Tonight I had the incredible joy and privilege of watching my cousin Rosalie bring the character of Little Red Riding Hood to life in her university's production of Into the Woods. She gave this character a voice all her own and while I sat enrapt in how talented my cousin and her fellow thespians are, I realized something. Rosalie's engaging portrayel brought to life how much I identified with Red. I am often led astray by the wolf in the woods. Perhaps I also enjoy the yummy baked goods originally intended for another. And at the end of the day, I might find myself in a bit of a mess. However, I am quite thankful that as Cinderella sang to Red, "you are not alone." I am so thankful for a Savior who loves me completely and walks with me through the valleys and the mountaintop experiences. He who freely forgives me when I have gone astray and guides me as I seek to walk in his ways. As Kurt Kaiser so eloquently penned, "Oh how He loves you and me". May you each experience the abounding love of God this day. Happy weekend!!
Just wanted to stop in and say hello! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

That picture is too cute!! I love it! Thank you so much for coming, it meant the world to me!
ReplyDeleteAnd I couldn't agree more with your analysis of Little Red. I've thought a lot about it (as you can imagine) and I know that I will never be alone because I have the most supportive family in the world and believe in a God that will never let me go it alone. Love you!!
